WHAT ARE ALL-ON-X DENTAL IMPLANTS?

All-on-X is a procedure used as an alternative to traditional dentures. The procedure can replace a full arch of teeth in the top or bottom of your mouth. Dentists are able to attach prosthetic teeth to strategically placed dental implants. To start, the implants are placed in the jawbone by your Periodontist. Once the implants are in place, your dentist will attach prosthetic teeth (crowns) to the screws.

Unlike traditional dental implants that require a separate screw for each tooth, the All-on-x dental implants procedure attaches an entire top or bottom set of teeth using several implants. In addition, All-on-X dental prostheses are not removable compared to traditional dentures.

Dentists recommend All-on-X for a variety of reasons, including:

​

  • They can restore teeth after chronic tooth decay or infection

  • Replace teeth after failed root canals

  • Removing and replacing teeth which are not salvageable
